I write non-fiction, YA/historical novels, and picture books. My first NF book, Homework Helpers: Essays and Term Papers, was released by Career Press on Jan 20, 2011.
I am a contributing author on the Operation Awesome Blog and Pots & Pens Blog, have an insatiable love of books, and more weird quirks than you can shake a stick at. I am also a mom to two, stepmom to two more, and wife to one :)
WEEK ONE: Choose your topic and write your thesis statement
WEEK TWO: Gather your sources
WEEK THREE: Choose quotations, information, and citations from your sources - write on notecards in preparation for writing the outline and paper. BE SURE TO COPY EXACTLY ALL SOURCE INFORMATION. You'll need the author, title, publisher and publication date, page number, URL and access date (for internet sources). Also note if your information is a direct quote or paraphrase.
WEEK FOUR: Write detailed outline
WEEK FIVE: Write rough draft
WEEK SIX: Write final draft
Any of these steps can be combined to shorten your writing time. Followed as they are, you can write your paper at a nice leisurely pace and be done with time to spare!
